Photo a Week Challenge: Unexpected 7-25-19

Eagle Peek a boo

I have shared this photo so many times, for so many topics, but I really love it.

I think I even posted it once for the topic of “bokeh”, and STILL had not discovered the Bald Eagle photo-bombing my apple blossoms picture. It took a comment from a follower for me to see my own unexpected capture.

I think it might be one of my best, but totally by accident.

I might need some new material…

This discovery has continued to teach me…about paying attention, looking closely, seeing things from different perspectives, guardians watching over us, and Spirit Animals.

The Eagle is a symbol in many cultures of freedom, vision, and enlightenment….

Photo a Week Challenge-depth of field

I am having a hard time grokking the whole “depth of field” concept but it’s probably because I am not really fluent in “photography speak”.

These first ones are my attempts at it but I can’t really make my phone or my point and shoot Canon do what I want. I thought they were interesting pictures anyway though.

my phone focuses equally, near and far…

I can’t get the foreground to focus instead of the background in these next two

My Canon Power Shot SX500 IS should be able to do it but I don’t know how so all is equally focused.

This next one is my favorite photo I’ve ever taken. BUT, it was completely an accident and I have no idea how I did it! I’ve shared this photo before in posts about perspective, or looking deeper at things.

Any feedback welcome. Please comment. Anyone?

Lens-Artist Photo Challenge 13–Look Up

In responding to this week’s Lens Artist Photo Challenge-theme “Look Up”, I was overwhelmed with the beauty of  two posts I saw.

Lens-Artist Photo Challenge: #13 Look Up

And then I was overwhelmed by how many choices I had in my own files that would be good for this challenge. Apparently, I spend a lot of time “looking up”…and snapping away!

I love all the references in both the above posts to perspective and how changing yours can change everything else also. That really speaks to me. So I am changing mine on this challenge. Nothing I have compares to the stunning beauty of these Cathedrals. Thank you so much for sharing those. But it all reminded me, once again, of my own favorite accidental photo. I have posted it before but will again for this challenge.

I’ll just add the words “look carefully” whenever you Look Up!

In case you have not seen this before, (I post this photo a lot), I did not discover the whole content of the photo until I was posting it for the word Blossoms…
